Help and answers before you order

Straight answers about ordering, delivery, and care. If you don't find what you need, our team replies within one working day.

Once your parcel leaves our workshop, we email a tracking link to the address you provided at checkout. Most orders within India arrive in 5–7 working days. If the link doesn't update for more than two days, write to us at info@youhess.com and we'll check with the courier directly.

Yes, as long as the item hasn't left our studio. Send your order number to info@youhess.com and we'll confirm the change within a few hours. Because each piece is made in small batches, we can't always swap sizes or colors once production begins, but we'll do our best to adjust the order.

We accept returns within 7 days of delivery if the piece arrives damaged or differs from its description. Since every item is handmade, slight variations in glaze or weave are normal and not considered defects. To start a return, email us a photo of the piece and your order number, and we'll arrange a pickup.

Yes, every order can include a handwritten note at no extra cost. Just add your message in the checkout notes field. For bespoke gift hampers, we also offer natural cotton wrapping and a small card with the maker's story. Mention your preference when you place the order.

Ceramic tableware is dishwasher-safe but we recommend hand washing to preserve the glaze. Brass accents naturally darken over time; polish them with a soft cloth and a little lemon juice to restore the shine. Full care instructions are included with each product page and in the package.

Some makers accept custom requests, especially for woven textiles and wooden organizers. Send us a message with the product link and your idea, and we'll ask the artisan if it's possible. Custom pieces usually take an extra 5–10 days and require a small deposit, which we confirm before starting.

How an order moves from your note to your door

You start by telling us what you have in mind, whether it is a single ceramic vase, a set of woven cushions, or a gift hamper for someone specific. Share the room, the occasion, and any material preferences, and we will confirm what is realistic before anything is made.

We match your request with a maker whose work fits the brief. Each artisan works in small batches, so we check current stock, lead time, and whether a piece can be personalised before we commit to a date.

Once the details are settled, you receive a written confirmation with the piece, the finish, the care notes, and the delivery window. No vague promises, just the practical facts about what will arrive and when.

The maker prepares your order, and we inspect it before dispatch. If anything does not match the agreed description, we flag it and offer an alternative rather than sending something that falls short.

Your order is packed in protective, recyclable material and shipped with tracking. You get the number as soon as it leaves, and we stay available if the courier needs a nudge or the delivery address changes.

After delivery, we check that the piece arrived intact and that it suits the space or the person it was meant for. If something is off, tell us within a week and we will sort it out directly with the maker.

Most single pieces ship within five to seven working days; bespoke hampers and personalised ceramics take a little longer because they are made after you order. If you need a firm date for a wedding or a housewarming, mention it in your first message and we will plan around it.

How a piece travels from maker to your home

Ask about a custom order

Week 1 - Sourcing and selection

We visit workshops in Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Karnataka to meet makers and review their current batches. Only pieces that pass our material and finish checks make it into the catalog.

Week 2 - Order confirmation

Once you place an order, we confirm availability with the artisan directly. If a piece is made to order, we share the expected timeline before you pay.

Week 3 - Making and quality check

Your item is crafted, dried, fired, or woven according to the maker's process. We inspect each piece for cracks, uneven glaze, or loose threads before it is packed.

Week 4 - Packing and dispatch

Ceramics are wrapped in recycled paper and corrugated board, textiles in muslin cloth, and brass in soft pouches. We ship with a tracking number and a note about the maker.

Week 5 - Delivery and care follow-up

After delivery, we send care instructions specific to your item. If anything arrives damaged, we arrange a replacement or refund within seven days.
